About Mefro
Mefro (Metallwarenfabrik Rohrdorf) is a long-established German company and is regarded as the most important manufacturer of steel wheels for car trailers, agricultural machinery and caravans in Europe. The brand is synonymous with stability and precision in wheel manufacturing. Almost every major trailer manufacturer relies on Mefro's proven quality for original equipment, as these rims are specifically designed for the extreme point loads that occur in trailer use.
Technical superiority in detail
Trailer rims have to carry considerably higher loads than car rims of the same size. Mefro consistently optimises its wheels for these requirements.
- Huge load capacity reserves: Mefro rims (e.g. in 13 or 14 inch sizes) often have load ratings of 900 kg or more per wheel, which is essential for tandem trailers up to 3.5t.
- Precise PCD manufacturing: Whether the classic 4x100 or the heavy-duty 5x112 PCD – Mefro guarantees minimal tolerances for perfect concentricity and less wear on the wheel bearings.
- Excellent corrosion protection: The rims are usually finished in high-quality silver paint or primer to withstand the aggressive effects of road salt and moisture over the long term.
- Special sizes: Mefro is a leader in compact heavy-duty wheels (e.g. 10 or 12 inch), which ensure a low loading height on low loaders and car transporters.
Safety through marking
Every Mefro rim carries a unique stamping that identifies not only the size and offset (ET) but also the date of manufacture and the load capacity. This makes it easier to choose exactly the right spare wheel and ensures that the permissible axle loads are observed.
