Description

The toothed arc is the ratchet segment of handbrake lever 60493. When the parking brake is applied, the pawl engages in its teeth and holds the lever in the selected position.

Replacement is necessary when the teeth are worn or broken and the lever springs back under load. Check the pawl at the same time, as it works in the same tooth profile. After the repair, check the holding effect of the parking brake on the parked trailer.
