Description

AL-KO brake drum for the wheel brake 1637 on axles with compact bearings. The drum provides the friction surface for the brake shoes and runs on the compact bearing supplied with it.

Drums for compact bearings and for tapered roller bearings are not interchangeable. Compact bearings require no adjustment; the axle nut is tightened to the torque specified by the axle manufacturer, and self-locking nuts are replaced once they have been loosened.

Brake drums are replaced on both sides of an axle so that braking remains even on the left and right. After installation, the brake system is readjusted.
