Description
Brake drum as a replacement on BPW and PEITZ wheel brakes with narrow brake shoes and tapered roller bearings. The drum provides the friction surface for the brake shoes and carries the wheel via the PCD.
Drums of the same size come in several versions; before ordering, PCD, overall height and bearing pairing are compared with the old part. With tapered roller bearings, the bearing play is set via the axle nut after fitting, and a new shaft seal is installed.
Brake drums are replaced on both sides of an axle so that braking remains even on the left and right. After installation, the brake system is readjusted.
