Description

The breakaway cable connects the overrun coupling of a braked trailer to the towing vehicle. If the trailer becomes detached unintentionally, the cable pulls the handbrake lever and brakes the trailer.

The snap hook is attached to the towing vehicle and the ring to the handbrake lever. Route the cable so that it does not tighten when cornering and does not drag on the ground; replace a cable with a damaged sheath or a bent hook.
