Description

The replacement ring connects the trailer's breakaway cable to the attachment point on the towing vehicle. If the trailer accidentally comes off the towing vehicle, the breakaway cable applies the trailer brake before it separates completely.

The ring is replaced if it is bent, worn or has been lost. On the towing vehicle, attach the breakaway cable to the eye provided for this purpose on the towing bracket.
